Concerned about potential break-ins and interior damage from blown in glass, the Doctor at this eye clinic took our advise and is now fully protected. To acquire an excellent installation, we applied LLumar’s 15 mil Magnum Safety & Security Film and anchored the filmed glass to the frame with a Wet Glaze Attachment System.

Elements needed for a Wet Glaze Installment System

• removal of rubber around windows from the gasket
• filling in space (running bead) between the window and the frame with *995 Dow Corning Structural Sealant
• replacing the original gasket or if needed, install a more energy-efficient gasket

It is important to understand that film alone, while keeping the glass together, will not ensure that it stays in the frame. Maximizing the film’s performance requires the application of a structural adhesive sealant used  in “wet glazing”, such as Dow Corning® 995. It is this systematic procedure that attaches the film/glass combination to the frame and prevents the entire window unit from becoming dislodged in the event of a storm or blunt impact!
